Originally, the Avenger was a coupe known mainly in the USA. In 2000, the model was withdrawn from the market and replaced by the Dodge Stratus. In turn, seven years later it was the Avenger that replaced the Stratus as a 4-door sedan and was also introduced to the European market. The model was designed by Ryan Nagode of the Chrysler office. His main inspiration was the famous Dodge Charger. Both generations of Avenger were created in collaboration with Chrysler and Mitsubishi Motors.
